Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:
- Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
- Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
- Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
- Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)
If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.
ENG 217: Interactive Fiction
3 credits
In this four credit lecture-lab course, students will have the opportunity to build their own interactive literature. Students will explore examples of multi-genre creative writing, and workshop their own work, while developing the technological skills to create a body of digital, interactive works. Learning Goals
Students will be able to: recognize elements of craft in creative works, and apply these elements of craft to their own creative world, appraise creative work and provide constructive feedback, classify and apply basic javascript commands, navigate and produce content on Twine, which uses Javascript and CSS, debug issues in their code, assess their own work, and the work of their peers, critically based on the works' aesthetics and pragmatic use of coding, develop the necessary writing and reading skills for successfully communicating in different online media forms.
