Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:
- Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
- Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
- Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
- Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)
If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.
SPA 231: Spanish Cross-Cultural
Concepts

Students examine the way of life of a people to understand their value systems as well as to achieve cross-cultural communication and understanding. The use a variety of sources to help them identify those cultural patterns intrinsic to a society. (Learning Goals:G,CO;Distribution Reqs:Humanities)
Learning Goals
To assist the student in acquiring a fundamental knowledge of the various cultures that comprise the Spanish speaking world. The focus is on the everyday life, history, geography, culture and civilization of the Hispanic world in a format designed to stimulate and encourage the exchange of ideas among students and instructor. The main purpose of the course is to show the unity of the Spanish-speaking culture, notwithstanding its varied contours. A variety of authentic material will be used in addition to the text, including but not limited to, newspaper, films, video, television.
