SPA 252: Spanish Grammar And
Composition
3 credits
Students review Spanish grammar systematically, from rudimentary to more advanced concepts of usage and idiomatic expressions, in order to increase their competence in written and oral Spanish.
Learning Goals
Student Learning Goals:The student is expected to deepen his/her understanding, through the study of grammar and idiomatic usage, of the thinking patterns and cultural idiosyncrasies of the people for whom Spanish is a native language. Idiomatic expressions also play a crucial role in normal discourse and in writing and are therefore an important part of literacy, comprehension, and fluency. Attainment of proper pronunciation is another essential goal of this course. The student will be expected to know the regular and irregular conjugations of verbs (all moods and tenses) and to use them correctly in speech and in writing. In addition, the student is expected to be able to identify, and use correctly, the parts of speech as well as diacritical and orthographic accent marks.
