Course Search


Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.


DSC 783: Advanced Business Analytics

3 credits

Students will learn the structure and steps used in the development of a business data analytics solution. Advanced analytical techniques will be included such as support vector machines and neural networks. Students will use state of the art Python and R packages such a Pytorch, Keras, and Tensor Flow.

Learning Goals

Upon completing the course, students will:     1. Explain the process of a successful Machine Learning project2. Illustrate the use of Machine Learning in a business environment3. Synthetize the principles of neural network models and its similarity with the brain4. Formulate models that solve classification problems 5. Solve classification problems using state of the art software applications6. Evaluate solutions obtained by different classification techniques7. Compare software applications and packages used to solve classification
