Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.


ITA 112: Level II Italian

3 credits

Students continue work begun in Level I with an emphasis on the more advanced functions of the Language through a communicative/participatory approach and further development of cultural awareness. (Learning Goals:G)

Learning Goals

To assist the student in acquiring a degree of proficiency in various skills required to comprehend and communicate in another language at the prescribed proficiency level described below. All skills will receive attention, although speaking will be emphasized throughout the semester. The student will be able to use all skills, in the present, past and future tenses, to talk about themselves and their preferences, needs and interests. The students will be expected to greet others, introduce themselves and handle basic social situations. The student will be exposed to cultural information on a target country or region, along with activities designed to develop student’s reading and writing skills.
