Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.


PFA 249: Theatre Movement

2 credits

The Spring continuation of 248, this course moves the student on to period-theatre movement, more advanced dance-movement skills, and advanced stage combat with weapons for a certificate program.

Learning Goals

0192-249, all sections:THEATRE MOVEMENT0192-249 is the Spring version of 0192-248, the Fall sections of THEATRE MOVEMENT. Learning Goals are substantially the same, but the basic subject matter may vary from section to section or year to year.Students will, over a four year period, over six required semesters:1) increase their physical awareness of self, others, and surroundings;2) develop their physical vocabulary as an actor;3) enhance basic and specific dance skills, musical theatre movement, mime, stage combat techniques or other semester-specific movement skills from the first-year level to more advanced levels over eight semesters;4) develop confidence in movement abilities;5) develop overall knowledge and respect for form of theatre involving strong physical use of the body.
