Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.


PFA 280: Voice And Diction II

2 credits

In the fourth of four required voice courses, projection and support technique from the first year, and second-year diction training, combine for advanced work on the well-supported use of a properly placed and malleable voice, with continuing work on any personal diction issues. Learning Goals

0192-280: DICTION PROJECTION-WORKING WITH THE ACCENTLESS VOICEStudents will:1) continue the work done in 0192-180, with an emphasis on developing stage diction and projection;2) explore the oral placement and production of each consonant and vowel;3) explore their vocal range of pitch;4) perfect their capacity to speak Standard or General American English;5) develop capacity for diaphragmatic breathing;6) practice adapting vocal production to the needs of theatrical characterization.
