Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.


PSI 633: Intake & Interviewing Seminar II: Professional Conduct & Ethics

1.50 credits

This course provides instruction in the interview process and procedural aspects of the initial intake in the Center for Psychological Services. Students interview prospective patient, present findings, and write comprehensive narrative summaries for patient files. In this seminar, professional ethics and conduct will be introduced & covered at lenght.

Learning Goals

The primary learning objectives of the course are: 1. Students will acquire knowledge, at a beginning level, of ethical, professional and legal issues and standards in psychological practice. 2. At a beginning level, they will attain the ability to address ethical issues relevant to the clinical case material. 3. Students will further develop their competency in clinical interviewing, and be able to write a narrative report including the mental status exam and case formulation. 4. Students will further develop their competency in presenting intakes for disposition case conferences.
