Course Search


Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.


SPY 665: School Neuropsychology I

3 credits

Students will develop a foundational knowledge of the main characteristics of the different types of learning disabilities and will learn to recognize possible indicators of learning disabilities from the cognitive and educational testing profiles. Curriculum-based measures will be reviewed.

Learning Goals

Course Learning Goals;In this course, students will:1. Develop foundational knowledge in the neuropsychology of Reading, Math and Written Language Disability as well as in the neuropsychology of Nonverbal Learning Disability and Executive Functions2. Learn to analyze assessment profiles to determine the presence of learning disabilities such as dyslexia, math disability, writing disability, nonverbal learning disability, executive dysfunction3. Learn to interpret select instruments (NEPSY2, K-ABC2, BRIEF) that are commonly used in neuropsychological assessment. 4. Develop the capacity to recommend evidence-based interventions to address identified learning difficulties
