Course Search


Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.


EEC 750: Methods Of Instruction

3 credits

Study current methods of teaching students within full range of disabilities and employs both direct instruction and role simulation. Learn effective methods for teaching all learners, for developing cognitive skills and developing positive social skills. 25 hours Fielwork is a course requirement.

Learning Goals

B. PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES-Based on the six goals of Conceptual Framework1. Scholarship- Degree candidates will demonstrate strategies and methods to teach students with a full range of disabilities who are placed in regular settings as well as special settings.2. Reflective Practice Degree candidates will reflect on the applications of the methods, and materials used to educate pupils with special needs. Degree candidates must also reflect on their own work and demonstrate growth.3. Social Justice Degree candidates will demonstrate the appropriate use of tests and assessment tools that render a true evaluation of the abilities of pupils with disabilities4. Inclusive community Degree candidates will complete a list of community and school activities that are available and appropriate for pupils with disabilities. Recreational, academic and employment opportunities will be stressed.5. Wellness Degree candidates will demonstrate their ability to work in groups and complete work on time. Degree candidates must demonstrate flexibility. 6. Creativity All work must be presented in a creative and artistic manner.C. FIELD STUDY/PRACTICUM/CLINICAL REQUIREMENT25 hours.
