Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.


SPY 605: Personality Assessment I

3 credits

Students will learn to administer, score and interpret personality assessment instruments. The instruments consist of direct assessment methods and projective techniques. Tests have been selected for study that are currently employed in schools and mental health facilities for children and adolescents.

Learning Goals

THE PRIMARY LEARNING OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE ARE: 1. familiarize students with the major apperceptive, figure drawing and self-monitoring checklists 2. learn how to administer, score and interpret apperceptive and projective tests and self-monitoring or behavioral checklists 3. learn how to write and organize reports from personality assessment data and present the evidence to parents and teachers Assessment issues4. integrate data from the different tests and checklists in report writing5. integrate data obtained from personality assessment instruments with data from achievement and cognitive assessment.
