Using oral testimonies, memoirs, diaries, films and other reconstructions, this course examines “the soldier” by looking at those who fought on both the Allied and Japanese sides during World War II.  We will try to ascertain what it is to fight, and what is lost and what remains after war.  (Distribution Reqs:Social Sciences)
