This course examines the emergence of the Heliocentric model in 16th and 17th century science. After examining the origins of the Geocentric model in Ancient and Medieval philosophy, we will study the career and trials of the two most prominent defenders of the Heliocentric universe, Giordano Bruno and Galileo Galilei. |
