Learn in detail about the structure and development of the teeth and masticatory system, together with the specialized vocabulary of dentistry. Designed for the pre-dental students but open to others. Laboratories include observations of dental prosthetic preparations and drawing the individual teeth. |

Course Learning Goals:At the end of this course the student will be able to:1) Utilize the language of the field of dentistry2) Recognize the anatomy of each tooth and be able to differentiate one tooth from another 3) Describe the anatomy of the temporal mandibular joint and the facial nerves, muscles and blood vessels. 4) Recall the process of formation of teeth and describe how teeth contact against other teeth in the same arch and the opposing arch. This is not a competitive course, grade-wise, as you might find in professional school. If you do not do grade “a” work, then you will be short-changing yourself. If you have any type of disability that you feel could hinder you in this course, resources are available to provide you with help.
