Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.

Description:

This course is a fusion of “Business” and the “Arts”. Students majoring in a creative discipline, and want to freelance, own their own business, or become an independent contractor, will have the chance to explore their entrepreneurial spirit and post college goals.

Learning Goals:   Class Learning GoalsStudents will learn: 1) about navigating the dangerous terrain of working for themselves in the “arts” sector, 2) how to become a thought leader and make a mark in their industry, 3) how to network and become bankable, and 4) how to learn and grow to become a creative expert. Class modules include: DISC Assessments, finding your Unique-ability, portfolio development, the Blue Ocean Strategy, money & metrics, creating an identity, systems & processes, and alternative marketing. Successful students will leave this class with a GROWTH PLAN to execute in the post college world. *
