Description: |
In Literature and Slavery, we will read literary works about slavery and its legacy written primarily by British and American writers. We will also read works inflected by slavery, including those by canonical White American writers in which slavery, as Toni Morrison has argued, is a repressed subtext. We will focus on works written by 19 th- and 20 th-century writers. (Learning Goals:G;Distribution Reqs:Humanities) |
