Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.

Description:

This course focuses on reading and research of selected topics in sociology, under the guidance of the faculty advisor.

Learning Goals:   Teaching Global Movements: By the end of the semester, the student will be able to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of how to organize materials for a course syllabus. 2. Develop a course syllabus. 3. Integrate learning theory and practice into the design of the course syllabus. 4. Construct goals and expectations for students within a course syllabus. 5. Execute a class lecture. 6. Utilize a variety of current teaching techniques and methods to create a supportive and productive environment that promotes student interaction, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills on global issues. 7. Analyze developmental issues as relating to the processes of globalization. 8. Describe the foundational components of global movements. 9. Develop teaching, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
