In this third of four required voice courses, the student builds upon basics of vocal mechanics and technique through an intensive investigation of the standardized production of de-nasalized vowels and clear consonants. 0192-230: DICTION: ERASING LOCAL ACCENTSStudents will:1) comfortably identify all the phonetic symbols; 2) transcribe phonetically; 3) become familiar with a vocal warm-up that they do daily; 4) identify any regionalisms they might have and begin to eliminate them; 5) understand placement and production of each vowel and diphthong; 6) explore their vocal range through monologues; 7) learn and speak in Standard or General American; 8) develop crisp clear diction appropriate for the stage. *The learning goals displayed here are those for one section of this course as offered in a recent semester, and are provided for the purpose of information only.
