Focusing upon some of New York’s recent migrant communities (1945-Present), students learn about their music and its relationship to the processes of relocation and resettlement through reading, thinking, listening (audio/visual examples provided by the instructor), and writing. In the end, students acquire tools for understanding their own identities within the context of the most recent scholarship concerning the study of musical globalization. (Distribution Reqs:Arts) |
