Description:

This course teaches skills required to perform a comprehensive patient interview, a complete physical exam, document the assessment findings, develop preferential and differential diagnoses, and develop diagnostic reasoning skills. NP students will learn how to orally present their findings in a structured and organized manner during patient clinical encounters.

Learning Goals:   Upon completion of this course students will be able to:1- Understand the importance between objective and subjective data collection in relation to advanced physical assessment.2- Document episodic and complete history and physicals.3- Apply critical thinking and utilize evidence based practice to begin formulating differential diagnoses.4- Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of all cultures and ethnic backgrounds.5- Perform episodic and complete history and physicals related to the adult patient.
