Students will study aspects of social setting and human behavior that contribute to the occurrence of public health threats and influence the success of population-level disease prevention and health promotion. Social, behavioral, and cultural theories regarding diagnosis, perceptions of threat, and public health problems are also addressed. (Distribution Reqs:Social Sciences) |

Explain major factors in the historical development of the U.S. health system.Evaluate the relationships between health care coverage, access, cost and quality and their impact on the U.S. health system. Analyze the role of evidence in shaping health policy. Analyze advanced practice roles in the legislative process, at the local, state and/or national levels.
