Description:

The student will synthesize and apply knowledge acquired throughout his or her graduate study. The student will identify a topic of interest related to the specialty area and complete an evidence-based project that identifies a problem, reviews the relevant literature and details an action plan for addressing the identified problem.

Learning Goals:   Upon completion of this course, the student will: 1. Implement a detailed, time sensitive project proposal. 2. Synthesize a complex, population-focused problem related to advanced health care information technology practice in the student’s specialty area. 3. Integrate findings from the literature to describe the current state of health care information technology knowledge relevant to the identified problem. 4. Develop an action plan, based on current best evidence, to address the problem. 5. Complete a scholarly written presentation of the problem synthesis, literature review and plan in a manner that displays integration of the student’s program content.
