Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.

Description:

Students will gain familiarity with the content areas of the masters-level licensing exam and be able to connect the purpose of the exam to the MSW curriculum, highlighting points of connection and points where they diverge, with specific examples from required courses in all sequences. Students will identify their own strengths and address the challenges related to taking the exam. Students will apply the information learned which contributes to their ability in passing the licensing exam.

Learning Goals:   By the end of the course, students will be able to:1. Articulate how the masters-level licensing exam connects to core competencies in social work education as embodied in the MSW curriculum across all sequences2. Successfully summarize and apply the NASW Code of Ethics to exam questions utilizing the Code of Ethics Framework3. Identify ethical considerations within exam questions4. Identify strategies to address test anxiety5. Implement study tips and plans for the licensing exam, including a study plan6. Apply study and test-taking strategies for successful test taking outcomes7. Identify questions that test your knowledge on assessment and intervention planning and interventions8. Apply test testing strategies to successfully answer exam questions
