| Description: |
The course will review the use of neuropsychological instruments to assess and diagnose for the presence of different learning disabilities. The course is a continuation of the Neuropsychological Bases in Learning course and aims to train students to recognize the profiles of students with different learning disabilities and make recommendations. |
| Learning Goals: |
In this course, students will have the opportunity to:1. develop foundational knowledge in the neuropsychology of Reading, Math and Written Language Disability as well as in the neuropsychology of Nonverbal Learning Disability and Executive Functions2. be able to determine, from analyzing assessment profiles, the presence of learning disabilities such as dyslexia, math disability, writing disability, nonverbal learning disability, executive dysfunction 3. be knowledgeable of and demonstrate entry level competency in the interpretation of select instruments (NEPSY2, K-ABC2, BRIEF and CELF) used to assess for different disabilities 4. be knowledgeable of school interventions based on neuropsychological profiles *The learning goals displayed here are those for one section of this course as offered in a recent semester, and are provided for the purpose of information only.
