Description: |
Students will learn critical clinical skills and strategies associated with leading theories, models, and concepts in family and parenting interventions. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the needs and structure of families from diverse backgrounds and on reviewing evidence based practices in schools that help improve family and school collaboration. |
Learning Goals: |
In this course, students will:1. Identify variables and dynamics related to healthy and unhealthy family functioning.2. Identify, articulate, and compare theories and techniques of family therapy and parenting based interventions.3. Describe the role of culture, ethnicity, gender, SES, etc. in family based interventions.4.
