At the end of this course students will be able to make watercolor paintings usingfundamental watercolor painting concepts, including: value (light and dark), color theory,properties specific to watercolor paint, and aerial and linear perspective. Students will beexposed to art history and contemporary art as it relates to the coursework in an effort toallow them to connect this course to historical precedent and larger cultural ideas. Studentswill be able to discuss painting using the ideas from this course in a group setting. Finally,watercolor students will gain an appreciation for art that will extend past the course, and intothe rest of Adelphi University, museums, and into their homes. *The learning goals displayed here are those for one section of this course as offered in a recent semester, and are provided for the purpose of information only.
