Description: |
Students will examine past and current homeland security events, as well as continuing threats against our personal and national safety. Students will explore federal, state and local government’s efforts, in addition to those undertaken by the private sector, to secure our homeland. |
Learning Goals: |
At the conclusion of the course, the student will be able to:1. Evaluate, synthesize and develop security policy incorporating basic homeland security framework; 2. Author improved homeland security policies and propose their conclusions in a public forum; 3. Critically appraise the roles of political leaders, first responders, analysts, the military, medical practitioners and others in carrying out their duties aimed at securing our homeland;4. Critique means of public communication and information dissemination;5.
