Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.

Description:

Students will engage in financial planning matters as well as district level fiscal accountability protocols. As aspiring district leaders, they will also learn how education is financed in New York as well as how to be fiscally responsible while creating a stable educational environment that is conducive to learning.

Learning Goals:   3. Course Goals and Objectives: All coursework is planned to increase your awareness and skills as an educational leader. A. Scholarship – to broaden one’s educational knowledge base in regard to management, leadership, business and technological integration. To come to an understanding about the various theories and aspects of leadership and to try to close the gap between theory and practice. B. Reflective Practice – To reflect on espoused theory and theory in use and apply best practice. To help students articulate their goals through reflection and develop an educational leadership focus that will help in career development. To develop reflective practice by reviewing skills obtained in each class session. C. Social Justice – To re-engineer, broaden perspectives and assess change processes in regard to the implementation of fairness and equity for all school stakeholders. To actively formulate a new policy initiative within a team unit. D. Inclusive Community – To work in groups and teams. To apply theories of learning. To develop a leadership awareness. E. Wellness- To attend all classes, participate, enter in discussions and interact with peers and team members. To refine planning, organizational, time management, problem solving, oral and written communication skills and team building skills. F. Creativity – To think out of the box and broaden the knowledge base creatively. Working in teams are effective applications to enhance creativity and problem-solving. Utilize technology through presentation development. These Goals and Objectives are in accordance with Adelphi Core Values, New York State Regent’s Student Learning Standards, ELCC Standards, Council of Chief State School Officers, Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium Standards for School Leaders and NYC Standards for Leaders.
