This course is designed to prepare individuals to meet the needs of most emergency situations when temporary first aid care is necessary. It is designed to develop the critical knowledge and skills that may enhance sound personal judgment in dealing with accidents and common illnesses. |
| Learning Goals: |
1. Control an accident scene to prevent further injury.2. Gain access to victims in the easiest and safest ways possible3. Open a victim’s airway.4. Perform rescue breathing for an Adult/Child/Infant5. Perform Adult/Child/Infant CPR.6. Control bleeding by direct pressure, elevation, pressure points, and tourniquets.7. Perform basic dressing and bandaging techniques.8. Detect and care for Shock.9. Detect and care for soft-tissue and internal injuries.10.
