Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.

Description:

Methods of teaching lifetime activities. It is assumed that one has fulfilled beginning level competencies prior to enrollment.

Learning Goals:   Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:1) Identify the domains/critical components related to select physical activities2) Participate with competency in a variety of lifetime activities3) Value the experience of a lifetime participation in physical activity4) Gain insight to instructional techniques and safety considerations5) Demonstrate the ability to analyze skills necessary to participate in lifetime sports6) Demonstrate the ability to utilize a variety of teaching cues and strategies with progression7) Create innovative and developmentally appropriate lead-up activities and learning experiences8) Utilize current technology and assessment practices9) Modify instruction to meet the special needs of students with disabilities10) Understand the basic terminology, strategy, rules of each activityGrading Plan:Participation/Professionalism/
