Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.

Description:

Students have an opportunity to choose from a variety of activity courses designed to introduce them to a new sport or lifetime skills. The activities carry 1 credit for semester's work and 2 credits for the full semester.

Learning Goals:   This course will focus on active participation in motor skill performance for tennis and analysis of strategy. Tennis class will incorporate the application of a positive and safe learning environment and consideration for differently enabled students. School of Education Core Value and course goals and objectives:upon completion of this course students should be able to : Play Tennis at a Recreational Level. Identify the critical components of tennis skills. Demonstrate performance competency in fundamental tennis skills. Identify and define health related and skill related components of fitness. Identify and describe techniques that promote cooperative and interpersonal communication skills and the application of social responsibilities. Observe, analyze and provide corrective feedback regarding motor skill performance and tactical applications. Students will successfully meet the requirement for attendance,class participation and class group work.
