This course is designed to give students an understanding of the fundamental principles and practices of aural (re)habilitation, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive listening devices, communication strategies training, auditory training, speechreading, and audiological counseling. |
| Learning Goals: |
Course Objectives:1) To explore and discuss practice/therapy of aural/oral habilitation/rehabilitation for deaf and hard-of-hearing persons. 2) To demonstrate knowledge and teaching of SPOKEN LANGUAGE (speech), VISUAL STIMULI (speechreading), and AUDITION Stimuli (auditory training) through clinical/educational lessons.3) To learn about communication approaches and amplification devices for (D/HH) persons.
