Courses may be offered in one of the following modalities:

  • Traditional in-person courses (0–29 percent of coursework is delivered online, the majority being offered in person.)
  • Hybrid/blended courses (30–79 percent of coursework is delivered online.)
  • Online courses (100 percent of coursework is delivered online, either synchronously on a designated day and time or asynchronously as a deadline-driven course.)
  • Hyflex (Students will be assigned to attend in-person or live streamed sessions as a reduced-size cohort on a rotating basis; live sessions are also recorded, offering students the option to participate synchronously or view asynchronously as needed.)

If you are enrolled in courses delivered in traditional or hybrid modalities, you will be expected to attend face-to-face instruction as scheduled.

Learning Goals:   PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES – based on the 6 goals of the Conceptual FrameworkThe student will:1. Have an understanding of issues directly related to the practice of conducting a speech-language program in a school setting (ASHA-III-D) (Assessed by university supervisor observation and final evaluation by cooperating slp)2. Complete 150 hours of supervised clinical practice in a school setting under the direct supervision of a certified TSSLD (Teacher of Students with Speech Language Disabilities) who also holds the ASHA CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) (ASHA-IV-F, IV-G3) (Assessed by submission of signed log)3. Demonstrate the ability to develop lesson plans (reflecting evidence based practice) appropriate for the school setting. (ASHA-IV-G2) (Assessed by university supervisor observation and final evaluation by cooperating slp)4. Demonstrate the ability to develop a case presentation (client study) including history, diagnosis, intervention and progress that could be used at a school meeting (ASHA-IVB, IV-G3) (Assessed by university supervisor)
